Le peintre, profond\u00e9ment attach\u00e9 aux paysages de Champagne et aux rives de la Vesle, s\u2019aventure rarement aussi loin de son territoire habituel. Pourtant, au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1930, plusieurs toiles t\u00e9moignent de s\u00e9jours sur la c\u00f4te m\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne, notamment autour des Lecques et de La Ciotat.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"1031\">Cette confrontation avec le paysage du Midi introduit dans son \u0153uvre une lumi\u00e8re et des couleurs inhabituelles. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 la Champagne lui offre des horizons doux, des tonalit\u00e9s gris\u00e9es et des atmosph\u00e8res diffuses, la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e impose un paysage plus contrast\u00e9 : mer claire, rochers abrupts, v\u00e9g\u00e9tation dense et pins tordus par le vent. La composition devient plus contrast\u00e9e, les masses plus d\u00e9coup\u00e9es, et la couleur prend une intensit\u00e9 inhabituelle dans son \u0153uvre.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"2217\">Les vues ex\u00e9cut\u00e9es aux Lecques montrent souvent la mer aper\u00e7ue \u00e0 travers les troncs de pins, ou des c\u00f4tes rocheuses baign\u00e9es d\u2019une lumi\u00e8re tr\u00e8s claire. L\u2019atmosph\u00e8re y est plus lumineuse mais aussi plus dure, ce qui oblige le peintre \u00e0 simplifier les formes et \u00e0 renforcer les oppositions de tons.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2219\" data-end=\"2471\">Ces paysages restent cependant fid\u00e8les \u00e0 sa mani\u00e8re.<br data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2274\" \/>Bocquet ne cherche pas l\u2019effet spectaculaire ni l\u2019exotisme du sujet. Les feuillages agit\u00e9s par le vent structurent l\u2019espace et ouvrent la composition vers l\u2019horizon marin.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2743\">Cette peinture se distingue par une vigueur inhabituelle de la touche et par une coloration particuli\u00e8rement riche. L\u2019intensit\u00e9 des tons, la dynamique des branches et le contraste entre les masses v\u00e9g\u00e9tales et la mer donnent \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble une \u00e9nergie rare dans l\u2019\u0153uvre de Bocquet.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2745\" data-end=\"3006\">Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e \u00e0 deux reprises en 1932 \u2014 au <strong data-start=\"2784\" data-end=\"2832\">Salon de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nationale des Beaux-Arts<\/strong> puis \u00e0 l\u2019<strong data-start=\"2842\" data-end=\"2893\">Exposition d\u2019Arts Modernes de Ch\u00e2lons-sur-Marne<\/strong> \u2014 cette toile t\u00e9moigne de l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat port\u00e9 \u00e0 ces paysages m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens dans la derni\u00e8re p\u00e9riode de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<h2><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><!-- divi:paragraph {\"align\":\"justify\",\"fontSize\":\"extra-small\"} --><\/h2>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243; De retour \u00e0 Reims&nbsp; au d\u00e9but d'octobre, il se remit \u00e0 l'oeuvre, malgr\u00e9 l'\u00e2ge et une vue fatigu\u00e9e. L'un est une vue de la Baie des Lecques par temps calme, avec au fond la c\u00f4te rocheuse appel\u00e9e \"La Madrague\". La mer, \u00e0 travers quelques troncs de pins tordus au premier plan, est d'un bleu p\u00e2le, un peu irr\u00e9elle : c'est pourtant la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, dans sa duret\u00e9.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/div>\n<!-- \/wp:media-text -->\n\n<!-- wp:columns {\"align\":\"wide\"} -->\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide\"><!-- wp:column {\"width\":\"100%\"} -->\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\"><!-- wp:paragraph {\"align\":\"justify\",\"fontSize\":\"extra-small\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-extra-small-font-size\">La toile la plus importante des Lecques en 1931 est intitul\u00e9e \"Pins sur la C\u00f4te d'Azur\" (huile sur toile, 54 x 73 cm). C'est un aper\u00e7u sur la mer vers le \"Bec de l'Aigle\", pr\u00e8s de la Ciotat, \u00e0 travers des masses verdoyantes et rouge\u00e2tres de pins. La vigueur de la touche, le mouvement des feuillages violemment accentu\u00e9, une coloration d'une grande richesse et d'une rare intensit\u00e9 en font une toile exceptionnelle. Deux fois l'ann\u00e9e suivante, cette toile sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e au public, en mai au Salon de La Nationale, en octobre \u00e0 Ch\u00e2lons-sur-Marne, \u00e0 l'Exposition d'Arts
